1. About COVID-19 Treatment & Testing

The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has designated COVID-19 testing as a preventative service, testing is covered under your plan at no cost to members.
However, treatment for COVID-19 is covered under the plan like any other disease.
This means if a member gets a prescription from a doctor for a COVID-19 test, the test is free for the member, but the office visit and following treatments, if any, may cost the member out-of-pocket expenses.
If you prefer to not offer COVID-19 testing as a preventative/free option to your group’s members, please contact your account manager.

3. How We’re Handling This Internally

As a B-Corp, Apostrophe is dedicated to taking care of everyone Apostrophe serves, including our own staff.
To that end, we’re taking extra precautions and working as a fully-remote team as of Monday, March 16, 2020. We’re also ceasing corporate travel, and we’ll work remotely until it’s deemed safe to move back to regular, onsite operations. This is in the best interest of our team and their families, as well as our local community.
Rest Assured:
  • Our team is fully equipped to work remotely.
  • There will be no disruption to Apostrophe services.
  • Member Care specialists will still be available Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm MT and on-call on weekends.
We’re in this together, and we’re here for you — whether we’re working from our office or our own homes. (Dog-barking in the background included for no additional fee.)
Your employees will get an email outlining the same ways to take advantage of Apostrophe Intelligent Health Benefits during this extraordinary time.

4. COVID-19 Signs, Symptoms and Actions to Take

Our Virtual Primary Care partner, Sherpaa, is stepping up as “Chief Medical Officer as a Service” and helping to lead the conversation in virtual care and disease prevention for COVID-19.
Sherpaa created this comparison table showing the differences between these illnesses.
